Experienced security practitioner and cybersecurity trainer with domain knowledge of information security management, investigations, training, digital forensics, ediscovery and incident response in the public and private sectors including academia. Spanning over 34 years, I have worked for six New York City agencies, three domestic and foreign financial institutions, one international biopharmaceutical company, four technical training schools, three colleges and consulted privately on a number of investigations.
Currently an Incident Commander for the NYC OTI Cyber Command with former roles in banking as Vice President of Global eDiscovery Operations and Cyber Forensics Investigations. The first and former Executive Director of IT and Investigative Operations and law enforcement officer for the New York City Department of Investigation. My managerial and technical expertise is extensive, hands-on, and encompasses over a dozen operating systems, networks and databases. I have performed undercover operations, conducted highly confidential internal and external investigations into corruption and other criminal activities and assisted and participated in the execution of many search warrants.
Since 1998, I have taught over 3,200 students for professional certification organizations and academia. These trainings included certifications in Microsoft, CompTIA, CISCO, custom and specialized courses within digital forensic investigations, undergraduate and graduate level classes.
Developed and taught a three (3) day seminar for American Management Association (AMA) for IT Managers with 0 to 3 years of experience in the industry titled "How to manage a World Class IT Department."
Co-Developed and currently teach a Digital Forensics course incorporating foundational principles covering over 50 dimensions of beginning, intermediate and advanced forensic techniques and labs.
Graduated Cum Laude from the City College of New York and from John Jay College with a Master's of Public Administration in Inspection and Oversight.
